About Listening Comprehension
Listening is the skill that changes fastest with practice. Our exercises pair a recorded English text with comprehension questions, so you train your ear the same way the real test does — with accents, speed and distractors.
What it tests
Each exercise has an audio recording — an announcement, conversation or talk — and a set of multiple-choice questions. You can play, pause and replay the audio as often as you like while you practise.
How it appears on the exam paper
In the real exam each recording is normally played twice. Questions test global meaning, specific information and the speaker's attitude — not just individual words you happen to catch.
Exam-style tips
- Read the questions first, so you know what to listen for.
- Don't panic at unknown words — attitude questions are about tone, not vocabulary.
- Beware of distractors: a word from the recording repeated in an option is often the wrong answer.
- Replay tricky sections and read the transcript afterwards to close the gap.
