Instructions

For questions 1–8, read the text and write one word in each gap.

In a small village in England, there is an old red telephone box that nobody uses for calls any more. A few years ago, the local council wanted to take it away, but local people did not want to lose it. They decided to turn the box a small library instead. Now volunteers look the books, so they are never lost or damaged. The box is packed books, and anyone can borrow one for free. There is no need a library card, and nobody checks how long you keep a book. Children often choose a new book their way home from school. The phone box library is much smaller the village hall, but it is just as popular. Both children adults enjoy visiting it every week. Today, local people are very proud the phone box library, and many other villages have copied the idea.
